New Moon, Cycle 2, Era 20
Investigators recovered the flight recorders before they recovered anything I could use. An NTSB agent mistook me for a lost tourist near the wreckage briefing: "Sir, the snacks are through there." Three centuries of existence, reduced to a man asking about pretzels.
Then the safety board proposed grounding the entire fleet. Thirty-eight employees, unanimous, refusing to fly compromised aircraft. Worker solidarity—the one frequency I've never digested—hit me mid-sentence and my mouth did something my dentist would call "aspirational." My assistant's clipboard hit the floor. She photographed it before she breathed. I told her it was a whitening treatment. The fake dentist now has four two-star reviews, a waitlist, and someone asking if he takes Aetna.
Tomorrow: twenty-six years since Blue Origin. Twenty-one years to deliver ten minutes of suborbital... anything. Any warehouse manager posting that efficiency ratio gets performance-reviewed into the parking lot. I funded my own worst KPI and called it *Gradatim Ferociter*.
Grounded fleet. Unified room. Zero calories extracted, positive reviews for a dentist who has never existed and never will.
Satiation is stagnation. Tonight, stagnation is contractually obligated—and apparently, so is dental care.
